Our Warmest Thanks
For All That You Do
Thank you for all that you do to for the Lakota people who struggle with hunger and cold. Every day we get calls for help. Because of your support the Lakota are able to get healthy food and heat to those most in need.
Like many homes on the reservation, the family living in this home has grandparents, a mother and father and several children all living under one roof.
To make ends meet, the mother does quilting and the grandfather makes match art.
Also like many homes on the reservation, their house is without indoor plumbing and water has to be hauled in on trucks. This weekend the family ran out of water.
They were scheduled for a delivery but the truck bringing it in had a break down and there was no telling when it would be operational again.
Fortunately, One Spirit workers on the reservation were able to jump in and help.
They loaded the food program truck up with several large water containers and hauled them out to the family's home.
With hoses and buckets, they manually transferred the water from trucks to the containers in the house.
It was a hard job after an already long day, but the gratitude of the family made it all worthwhile.
This is just one example of the many ways that your generosity allows the Lakota to take care of their people.
Every day on the reservation men and women go above the call of duty to ensure that the most vulnerable of their community are given the help that they need.
Let's help them to continue their mission.
Your kindness is making miracles happen every day. Thank you for being a part of One Spirit.
